The »bidding war« ended at GBP 956.00 (€ 1,375.20), 20% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Marlow achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A View From Richmond, Looking Towards Twickenham in January 2007 with an auction result of USD 384,000.00 (€ 295,430.07).
