Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2016 Christies in London held the auction Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art, Maritime Art, Sporting & Wildlife Art, which included the work The kitchen maid by William Lee-Hankey. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,500.00 (€ 4,158.76) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Lee-Hankey achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Goose Girl in November 2002 with an auction result of GBP 53,775.00 (€ 84,208.88).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2016 führte Christies in London die Auktion Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art, Maritime Art, Sporting & Wildlife Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The kitchen maid von William Lee-Hankey zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 3.500,00 (€ 4.158,76) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Lee-Hankey erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Goose Girl im November 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 53.775,00 (€ 84.208,88).
