Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In December 2015 Christies in London held the auction Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art; Maritime Art; Sporting & Wildlife Art, which included the work Market Day, San Remo, Italy by William Lee-Hankey. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 3,500.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 4,000.00 (€ 5,431.81). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Lee-Hankey achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Goose Girl in November 2002 with an auction result of GBP 53,775.00 (€ 84,208.88).
