In November this year Bonhams in London held the auction Modern British and Irish Art, which included the work At Looe, Cornwall by William Leech. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,920.00 (€ 2,224.86), 28% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Leech achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Shining Palace in May 2000 with an auction result of GBP 102,750.00 (€ 164,875.86).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 28 % übertroffen
Im November diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Modern British and Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit At Looe, Cornwall von William Leech zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.920,00 (€ 2.224,86) und damit 28% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Leech erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Shining Palace im Mai 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 102.750,00 (€ 164.875,86).
