Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2018 a collector was able to acquire the work Statue Of The Fragonard, Grasse by William Leech for GBP 47,500.00 (€ 53,578.56). This price was achieved in the auction A Living Legacy: Irish Art from the Collection of Brian P. Burns at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 50,000.00 – 70,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Leech - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Shining Palace, which sold at auction in May 2000 for GBP 102,750.00 (€ 164,875.86).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im November 2018 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Statue Of The Fragonard, Grasse von William Leech für GBP 47.500,00 (€ 53.578,56) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion A Living Legacy: Irish Art from the Collection of Brian P. Burns bei Sothebys in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 50.000,00 – 70.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von William Leech mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Shining Palace beobachtet, die im Mai 2000 für GBP 102.750,00 (€ 164.875,86) versteigert wurde.
