Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Refugee by William Leech was auctioned at Sothebys in London in November 2019. The price achieved of GBP 50,000.00 (€ 58,712.22) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Leech - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Shining Palace, which sold at auction in May 2000 for GBP 102,750.00 (€ 164,875.86).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Refugee von William Leech kam im November 2019 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 50.000,00 (€ 58.712,22) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von William Leech mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Shining Palace beobachtet, die im Mai 2000 für GBP 102.750,00 (€ 164.875,86) versteigert wurde.
