Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Statue of the Fragonard, Grasse | Statue du Fragonard, Grasse by William Leech was sold in the Ireland / France: Art & Literature auction at Sothebys in Paris in May last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 30,240.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by William Leech have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Shining Palace in May 2000 with an auction result of GBP 102,750.00 (€ 164,875.86).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Statue of the Fragonard, Grasse | Statue du Fragonard, Grasse von William Leech wurde im Mai letzten Jahres in der Auktion Ireland / France: Art & Literature bei Sothebys in Paris versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 30.240,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Leech auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Shining Palace im Mai 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 102.750,00 (€ 164.875,86).
