Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Reaper And The Lily by William James Webbe was auctioned at Christies in London in November 2006. The price achieved of GBP 12,000.00 (€ 17,820.38) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William James Webbe achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The White Owl. 'Alone and warming his five wits, The white owl in the belfry sits' in December 2012 with an auction result of GBP 589,250.00 (€ 726,708.90).

Die Arbeit The Reaper And The Lily von William James Webbe kam im November 2006 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 12.000,00 (€ 17.820,38) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William James Webbe erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The White Owl.
