Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Donkeys and a camel resting at the wayside by William James Webbe was sold in the British and Continental Watercolours auction at Christies in London in March 2004. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 418.25 (€ 626.08) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William James Webbe achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The White Owl. 'Alone and warming his five wits, The white owl in the belfry sits' in December 2012 with an auction result of GBP 589,250.00 (€ 726,708.90).

Die Arbeit Donkeys and a camel resting at the wayside von William James Webbe wurde im März 2004 in der Auktion British and Continental Watercolours bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 400,00 – 600,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 418,25 (€ 626,08) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
