Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2007 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Paintings, which included the work Indian Idyl by William Holbrook Beard. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 33,000.00 (€ 24,529.84) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by William Holbrook Beard have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Bears Picnic in January this year with an auction result of USD 151,200.00 (€ 139,252.16).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2007 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Indian Idyl von William Holbrook Beard zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 33.000,00 (€ 24.529,84) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Holbrook Beard auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Bears Picnic im Januar diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 151.200,00 (€ 139.252,16).
