Sold at the lower estimate price
In June 2020 Sothebys in London held the auction European Art: Paintings & Sculpture, which included the work Marsh Marigolds by William Henry Margetson. The result of GBP 10,000.00 (€ 11,013.27) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Henry Margetson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work On The Sands in May 2011 with an auction result of GBP 97,250.00 (€ 111,205.67).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Juni 2020 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion European Art: Paintings & Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Marsh Marigolds von William Henry Margetson zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 10.000,00 (€ 11.013,27) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Henry Margetson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit On The Sands im Mai 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 97.250,00 (€ 111.205,67).
