Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by William Henry Margetson could be acquired at Sothebys in London in July 2019 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite and British Impressionist Art auction, the work Marsh Marigolds changed hands for GBP 11,875.00 (€ 13,037.96) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Admittedly, works by William Henry Margetson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work On The Sands in May 2011 with an auction result of GBP 97,250.00 (€ 111,205.67).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von William Henry Margetson konnte im Juli 2019 bei Sothebys in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite and British Impressionist Art wechselte die Arbeit Marsh Marigolds für GBP 11.875,00 (€ 13.037,96) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Henry Margetson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit On The Sands im Mai 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 97.250,00 (€ 111.205,67).
