In April 2017 a collector was able to acquire the work Eve by William Henry Fox Talbot for USD 15,000.00 (€ 13,767.78). This price was achieved in the auction The Odyssey of Collecting: Photographs from Joy of Giving Something Foundation, Part 2 at Phillips in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Henry Fox Talbot achieve.
