Auction result well in line with expectations
In August 2001 Christies in Sydney held the auction AUSTRALIAN AND INTERNATIONAL PAINTINGS, which included the work Rainforest by William Francis Robinson. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of AUD 2,000.00 – 4,000.00, the actual price achieved of AUD 2,350.00 (€ 1,364.24) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Francis Robinson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Back Creek Gorge to the Coomera in May 2002 with an auction result of AUD 305,500.00 (€ 185,151.52).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im August 2001 führte Christies in Sydney die Auktion AUSTRALIAN AND INTERNATIONAL PAINTINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Rainforest von William Francis Robinson zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von AUD 2.000,00 – 4.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von AUD 2.350,00 (€ 1.364,24) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Francis Robinson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Back Creek Gorge to the Coomera im Mai 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 305.500,00 (€ 185.151,52).
