Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Bush Landscape with Sunbeams by William Francis Robinson was auctioned at Christies in Melbourne in August 2002, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of AUD 100,000.00 – 120,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for AUD 88,125.00 (€ 49,382.71). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Francis Robinson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Back Creek Gorge to the Coomera, which sold at auction in May 2002 for AUD 305,500.00 (€ 185,151.52).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Bush Landscape with Sunbeams von William Francis Robinson im August 2002 bei Christies in Melbourne versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von AUD 100.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für AUD 88.125,00 (€ 49.382,71) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von William Francis Robinson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Back Creek Gorge to the Coomera beobachtet, die im Mai 2002 für AUD 305.500,00 (€ 185.151,52) versteigert wurde.
