Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2002 Christies in London held the auction British and Victorian Pictures, which included the work Dead game, grapes and apples in a wicker basket, and a green ceramic pot, on a wooden table by William Duffield. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,238.38 (€ 3,557.30) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Duffield achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Still life with peaches, a pomegranate, grapes in a tazza, a pineapple, an orange, plums and pears, amongst roses, poppies and vines on a carved oak chest, draped with a rug, a landscape beyond in June 2003 with an auction result of GBP 54,970.00 (€ 78,994.88).
Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Still life with peaches, a pomegranate, grapes in a tazza, a pineapple, an orange, plums and pears, amongst roses, poppies and vines on a carved oak chest, draped with a rug, a landscape beyond im Juni 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 54.970,00 (€ 78.994,88).
