Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2016 Sothebys in London held the auction 19th Century European Paintings, which included the work Belgian la Grotte Du Drac, Manacor by William Degouve de Nuncques. The price achieved of GBP 50,000.00 (€ 58,458.11) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Degouve de Nuncques - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Belgian Reve De Voyage, which sold at auction in November 2008 for GBP 109,250.00 (€ 132,091.46).
