Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Landscape with a church in the distance by William Dean Fausett was auctioned at Christies in New York in September 2007, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 2,500.00 – 3,500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 2,000.00 (€ 1,406.57). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Dean Fausett - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Derby View, which sold at auction in April 2015 for USD 3,750.00 (€ 3,359.61).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Landscape with a church in the distance von William Dean Fausett im September 2007 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.500,00 – 3.500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 2.000,00 (€ 1.406,57) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von William Dean Fausett mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Derby View beobachtet, die im April 2015 für USD 3.750,00 (€ 3.359,61) versteigert wurde.
