Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2011 Christies in London held the auction Old Master & Early British Drawings & Watercolours, which included the work An album of ninety-seven drawings including views of Dunstanborough Castle, Northumberland; the bridge across the River Tyne, Sunderland (fig. 1); Eastbourne, Sussex; Hurst Castle, West Cowes (figs. 2 and 3) and near Blackwater, the Isle of Wight; Ly by William Daniell. The price achieved of GBP 15,000.00 (€ 17,214.74) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Daniell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Shivala Ghaut and Cheyt Singh's House near Benares in December 2016 with an auction result of GBP 485,000.00 (€ 567,043.69).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2011 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master & Early British Drawings & Watercolours durch, in der auch die Arbeit An album of ninety-seven drawings including views of Dunstanborough Castle, Northumberland; the bridge across the River Tyne, Sunderland (fig. 1); Eastbourne, Sussex; Hurst Castle, West Cowes (figs. 2 and 3) and near Blackwater, the Isle of Wight; Ly von William Daniell zur Versteigerung kam.
