Auction result well in line with expectations
The work On The Road by William Conor was sold in the British & Irish Art auction at Sothebys in London in May 2012. The price achieved of GBP 18,750.00 (€ 23,361.68) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Conor achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Dublin Horse Show in May 2007 with an auction result of GBP 192,000.00 (€ 282,540.99).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit On The Road von William Conor wurde im Mai 2012 in der Auktion British & Irish Art bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 18.750,00 (€ 23.361,68) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Conor erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Dublin Horse Show im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 192.000,00 (€ 282.540,99).
