Auction result well in line with expectations
In April last year Bonhams in London held the auction Modern British and Irish Art, which included the work Portrait of a Lady in a Shawl by William Conor. It changed hands for a price of GBP 4,590.00 (€ 5,473.41) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Conor achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Dublin Horse Show in May 2007 with an auction result of GBP 192,000.00 (€ 282,540.99).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Modern British and Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of a Lady in a Shawl von William Conor zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 4.590,00 (€ 5.473,41) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Conor erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Dublin Horse Show im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 192.000,00 (€ 282.540,99).
