Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Arthur Hughes reading by William Bell Scott was sold in the Important Victorian & British Impressionist Art auction at Christies in London in July 2013. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,500.00 (€ 3,999.36) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Bell Scott achieve.
