Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work Penkill Castle, Ayrshire by William Bell Scott for GBP 1,063.00 (€ 1,285.25). This price was achieved in the auction A GREAT BRITISH COLLECTION: The pictures collected by Sir David and Lady Scott, sold to benefit the Finnis Scott Foundation at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 1,200.00 – 1,800.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Bell Scott achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work King Arthur carried to the Land of Enchantment "Some men yet say, in many parts of England, that Arthur is not dead; but by the will of our Lord Jesu, carried into another place, that he will come again, and win the holy cross.
Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit King Arthur carried to the Land of Enchantment "Some men yet say, in many parts of England, that Arthur is not dead; but by the will of our Lord Jesu, carried into another place, that he will come again, and win the holy cross. And men say there is w im Juli 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 121.875,00 (€ 139.263,43).
