Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Relief M I by Willi Baumeister was auctioned at Christies in New York in April this year. The price achieved of USD 1,638.00 (€ 1,483.70) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Willi Baumeister achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Phantom Mit Rot in June 2009 with an auction result of GBP 397,250.00 (€ 466,159.56).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Relief M I von Willi Baumeister kam im April diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 1.638,00 (€ 1.483,70) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Willi Baumeister erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Phantom Mit Rot im Juni 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 397.250,00 (€ 466.159,56).
