In December 2016 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Masters Day Sale, which included the work Portrait Of Queen Mary Ii by Willem Wissing. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 22,500.00 (€ 26,306.15), 50% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Willem Wissing - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait of Francis Thynne, Lady Worsley, full-length, in a red dress and a blue ermine-lined mantle, a domed mansion in a garden beyond, which sold at auction in September 2011 for GBP 79,250.00 (€ 92,066.47).
