Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2006 Christies in London held the auction British Pictures 1500-1850, which included the work Portrait of Lady Sarah Benson, Half-Length, In A Maroon Dress With A Blue Shawl And Pearl Drop Earings by Willem Wissing. The price achieved of GBP 3,600.00 (€ 5,209.14) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Willem Wissing achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of Francis Thynne, Lady Worsley, full-length, in a red dress and a blue ermine-lined mantle, a domed mansion in a garden beyond in September 2011 with an auction result of GBP 79,250.00 (€ 92,066.47).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2006 führte Christies in London die Auktion British Pictures 1500-1850 durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of Lady Sarah Benson, Half-Length, In A Maroon Dress With A Blue Shawl And Pearl Drop Earings von Willem Wissing zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 3.600,00 (€ 5.209,14) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Willem Wissing erzielen.
