Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2017 Sothebys in New York held the auction Old Master Drawings, which included the work A Group Of Nine Studies Of Ships, Including Details Of Masts And Riggings by Willem van de Velde II. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 12,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 12,500.00 (€ 11,580.51) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Willem van de Velde II achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Dutch men-o'-war and other shipping in a calm in December 2011 with an auction result of GBP 5,921,250.00 (€ 7,091,533.28).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2017 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Old Master Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Group Of Nine Studies Of Ships, Including Details Of Masts And Riggings von Willem van de Velde II zur Versteigerung kam.
