Auction result well in line with expectations

The work An Amsterdam States Yacht at anchor near the shore, with other boats in choppy waters by Willem van de Velde II was sold in the Old Masters Evening Sale auction at Christies in London in July last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 200,000.00 – 300,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 225,000.00 (€ 268,689.96) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Willem van de Velde II achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Dutch men-o'-war and other shipping in a calm in December 2011 with an auction result of GBP 5,921,250.00 (€ 7,091,533.28).

Die Arbeit An Amsterdam States Yacht at anchor near the shore, with other boats in choppy waters von Willem van de Velde II wurde im Juli letzten Jahres in der Auktion Old Masters Evening Sale bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 200.000,00 – 300.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 225.000,00 (€ 268.689,96) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
