Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2014 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master & British Drawings, which included the work The Dutch Fleet Near The Doggerbank by Willem van de Velde I. It changed hands for a price of GBP 43,750.00 (€ 55,182.51) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 35,000.00 – 45,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Willem van de Velde I achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Dutch Harbor In A Calm With Small Vessels Inshore And Beached Among Fishermen, A Kaag At Anchor, A States Yacht And Men O'War Offshore: A "Penschilderij" in January 2015 with an auction result of USD 5,429,000.00 (€ 4,808,680.25).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2014 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Master & British Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Dutch Fleet Near The Doggerbank von Willem van de Velde I zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 43.750,00 (€ 55.182,51) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 35.000,00 – 45.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Willem van de Velde I erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Dutch Harbor In A Calm With Small Vessels Inshore And Beached Among Fishermen, A Kaag At Anchor, A States Yacht And Men O'War Offshore: A "Penschilderij" im Januar 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 5.429.000,00 (€ 4.808.680,25).
