Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Dutch Fleet at Anchor by Willem van de Velde I was sold in the A Fine Line: Master Works on Paper from Five Centuries auction at Sothebys in London in July 2021. The price achieved of GBP 47,880.00 (€ 56,149.23) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Willem van de Velde I achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Dutch Harbor In A Calm With Small Vessels Inshore And Beached Among Fishermen, A Kaag At Anchor, A States Yacht And Men O'War Offshore: A "Penschilderij" in January 2015 with an auction result of USD 5,429,000.00 (€ 4,808,680.25).

Die Arbeit The Dutch Fleet at Anchor von Willem van de Velde I wurde im Juli 2021 in der Auktion A Fine Line: Master Works on Paper from Five Centuries bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 47.880,00 (€ 56.149,23) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden.
