Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Willem van de Velde I could be acquired at Sothebys in London in July 2014 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master & British Drawings auction, the work Royal Yachts At Portsmouth changed hands for GBP 47,500.00 (€ 59,912.43) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Willem van de Velde I achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Dutch Harbor In A Calm With Small Vessels Inshore And Beached Among Fishermen, A Kaag At Anchor, A States Yacht And Men O'War Offshore: A "Penschilderij" in January 2015 with an auction result of USD 5,429,000.00 (€ 4,808,680.25).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Willem van de Velde I konnte im Juli 2014 bei Sothebys in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Old Master & British Drawings wechselte die Arbeit Royal Yachts At Portsmouth für GBP 47.500,00 (€ 59.912,43) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 50.000,00 – 70.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Willem van de Velde I erzielen.
