Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In July 2014 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master & British Drawings, which included the work A Fleet Of Dutch Ships At Sea by Willem van de Velde I. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 15,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 16,250.00 (€ 20,496.36). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Willem van de Velde I achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Dutch Harbor In A Calm With Small Vessels Inshore And Beached Among Fishermen, A Kaag At Anchor, A States Yacht And Men O'War Offshore: A "Penschilderij" in January 2015 with an auction result of USD 5,429,000.00 (€ 4,808,680.25).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juli 2014 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Master & British Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Fleet Of Dutch Ships At Sea von Willem van de Velde I zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 15.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 16.250,00 (€ 20.496,36) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Willem van de Velde I erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Dutch Harbor In A Calm With Small Vessels Inshore And Beached Among Fishermen, A Kaag At Anchor, A States Yacht And Men O'War Offshore: A "Penschilderij" im Januar 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 5.429.000,00 (€ 4.808.680,25).
