Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November 2012 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Impressionist and Modern Art, which included the work Cows near the waterfront by Willem Maris. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 6,000.00 20% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Willem Maris have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Herdboy With Donkeys On Scheveningen Beach in October 2006 with an auction result of EUR 50,400.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November 2012 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Impressionist and Modern Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Cows near the waterfront von Willem Maris zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 6.000,00 und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Willem Maris auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Herdboy With Donkeys On Scheveningen Beach im Oktober 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 50.400,00.
