Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2010 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Nineteen to Now,Art from the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries including Indonesian Art and Topographical Observations, which included the work Borobodur by Willem Imandt. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 2,500.00 – 3,500.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 2,750.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Willem Imandt - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A wooded mountainesque landscape with Waringin trees, which sold at auction in September 2006 for EUR 10,800.00.
