The »bidding war« ended at EUR 5,000.00 67% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Willem George Frederik Jansen; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot A Shell Fisher In The Breakers sold at auction in March 2007 with the realized price of EUR 9,600.00.
