In March 2007 Sothebys in Amsterdam held the auction Paintings, Drawings and Watercolours, which included the work A Shell Fisher In The Breakers by Willem George Frederik Jansen. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 9,600.00 20% above the upper estimate. With this result, A Shell Fisher In The Breakers is even the most expensive work of art by Willem George Frederik Jansen that we have observed at auctions so far.
