Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Still Life Of A Pewter Kanne, A Roemer, An Overturned Silver Beaker Resting On A Pewter Plate And A Ham Upon Another Pewter Plate, All Upon A Table Covered In A Brown Cloth And Partly Draped With A White Cloth by Willem Claesz. Heda was sold in the Old Master and British Paintings Evening Sale auction at Sothebys in London in July 2010. The price achieved of GBP 361,250.00 (€ 434,362.42) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 300,000.00 – 400,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Willem Claesz. Heda achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A blackberry pie on a pewter platter, a silver-gilded cup and cover, an upturned tazza, a partly-peeled lemon, a bread roll, hazelnuts, a façon-de-Venise glass, a silver decanter, a roemer, and a knife on a pewter platter, on a partly draped table in July 2014 with an auction re

Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Willem Claesz. Heda erzielen.
