Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
When the work A large roemer, a silver knife, a gold pocket watch with blue ribbon, a pewter plate with a peeled lemon, with other objects on a ledge by Willem Claesz. Heda was auctioned at Christies in December last year, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - GBP 250,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at GBP 756,000.00 (€ 853,450.36). Admittedly, works by Willem Claesz. Heda have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A blackberry pie on a pewter platter, a silver-gilded cup and cover, an upturned tazza, a partly-peeled lemon, a bread roll, hazelnuts, a façon-de-Venise glass, a silver decanter, a roemer, and a knife on a pewter platter, on a partly draped table in July 2014 with an auction result of GBP 4,842,500.00 (€ 6,10

Als die Arbeit A large roemer, a silver knife, a gold pocket watch with blue ribbon, a pewter plate with a peeled lemon, with other objects on a ledge von Willem Claesz.
