Auction result well in line with expectations

It changed hands for a price of EUR 5,625.00 achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of EUR 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Willem Carel Nakken - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Late summer: loading the hay-cart, which sold at auction in April 2005 for EUR 20,400.00.

Die Arbeit Donkeys and horses gathered under a shelter n a Summer's day von Willem Carel Nakken wurde im September 2011 in der Auktion Nineteen to Now including Topographical Observations bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von EUR 5.625,00 den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Willem Carel Nakken mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Late summer: loading the hay-cart beobachtet, die im April 2005 für EUR 20.400,00 versteigert wurde.
