Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Barges on Het Kanaal, The Hague by Willem Bastiaan Tholen was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in November 2012. The price achieved of EUR 12,500.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Willem Bastiaan Tholen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Billiards Player in July 2019 with an auction result of GBP 287,500.00 (€ 315,655.88).

Die Arbeit Barges on Het Kanaal, The Hague von Willem Bastiaan Tholen kam im November 2012 bei Christies in Amsterdam zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 12.500,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Willem Bastiaan Tholen erzielen.
