In the Made in Holland auction, the work A painter at work in a boat, possibly the artist Paul Joseph Constantin Gabriël sold for EUR 17,640.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Willem Bastiaan Tholen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Billiards Player in July 2019 with an auction result of GBP 287,500.00 (€ 315,655.88).
