Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2018 Sothebys in London held the auction 19th Century European Paintings, which included the work Dutch the Wegje With The Bleiswijkstraat Canal In Enkhuizen by Willem Bastiaan Tholen. The price achieved of GBP 56,250.00 (€ 62,667.49) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. Admittedly, works by Willem Bastiaan Tholen have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Billiards Player in July 2019 with an auction result of GBP 287,500.00 (€ 315,655.88).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2018 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion 19th Century European Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Dutch the Wegje With The Bleiswijkstraat Canal In Enkhuizen von Willem Bastiaan Tholen zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 56.250,00 (€ 62.667,49) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 50.000,00 – 70.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Willem Bastiaan Tholen auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Billiards Player im Juli 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 287.500,00 (€ 315.655,88).
