Auction result misses estimated price range
In February 2005 a collector was able to acquire the work Canna Leaf, 1933 by Willard van Dyke for USD 300.00 (€ 226.01). This price was achieved in the auction Photographs at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Willard van Dyke achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 'Ten Photographs, California 1930-1937' in April 2007 with an auction result of USD 14,400.00 (€ 10,541.73).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Februar 2005 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Canna Leaf, 1933 von Willard van Dyke für USD 300,00 (€ 226,01) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Photographs bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Willard van Dyke erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit 'Ten Photographs, California 1930-1937' im April 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 14.400,00 (€ 10.541,73).
