Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2011 Christies in New York held the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art Featuring Property from an Important Private European Collection Afternoon Session, which included the work Forest by Will Cotton. The price achieved of USD 25,000.00 (€ 17,390.09) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Will Cotton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Taffy Forest in September 2012 with an auction result of USD 272,500.00 (€ 211,963.29).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2011 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Featuring Property from an Important Private European Collection Afternoon Session durch, in der auch die Arbeit Forest von Will Cotton zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 25.000,00 (€ 17.390,09) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Will Cotton erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Taffy Forest im September 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 272.500,00 (€ 211.963,29).
