Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Rainbow by Wilfrid de Glehn was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 15,000.00 – 25,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 17,500.00 (€ 19,213.84) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wilfrid de Glehn achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Under the Willows in May 2005 with an auction result of USD 352,000.00 (€ 285,043.32).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Rainbow von Wilfrid de Glehn kam im Juli 2019 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 17.500,00 (€ 19.213,84) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wilfrid de Glehn erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Under the Willows im Mai 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 352.000,00 (€ 285.043,32).
