Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2018 Christies in London held the auction British Impressionism, which included the work The Mirror by Wilfrid de Glehn. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 35,000.00 (€ 39,478.94) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Wilfrid de Glehn have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Under the Willows in May 2005 with an auction result of USD 352,000.00 (€ 285,043.32).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2018 führte Christies in London die Auktion British Impressionism durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Mirror von Wilfrid de Glehn zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 35.000,00 (€ 39.478,94) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Wilfrid de Glehn auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Under the Willows im Mai 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 352.000,00 (€ 285.043,32).
