Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2005 Christies in London held the auction British and Continental Pictures, which included the work A moonlit quay by Wilfred Jenkins. It changed hands for a price of GBP 456.00 (€ 658.72) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wilfred Jenkins achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Figures on the corner of a moonlit street; and Figures on a moonlit lane in March 2000 with an auction result of GBP 12,075.00 (€ 20,081.28).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2005 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Continental Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit A moonlit quay von Wilfred Jenkins zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 456,00 (€ 658,72) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 300,00 – 500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wilfred Jenkins erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Figures on the corner of a moonlit street; and Figures on a moonlit lane im März 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 12.075,00 (€ 20.081,28).
