In October 2010 Christies in London held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work The Thames Embankment, London; and The Houses of Parliament, London by Wilfred Jenkins. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,875.00 (€ 2,161.90), 25% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Wilfred Jenkins have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Figures on the corner of a moonlit street; and Figures on a moonlit lane in March 2000 with an auction result of GBP 12,075.00 (€ 20,081.28).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2010 führte Christies in London die Auktion Christie's Interiors durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Thames Embankment, London; and The Houses of Parliament, London von Wilfred Jenkins zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.875,00 (€ 2.161,90) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Wilfred Jenkins auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Figures on the corner of a moonlit street; and Figures on a moonlit lane im März 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 12.075,00 (€ 20.081,28).
