Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Rooster I by Widayat was sold in the Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2016. It achieved a price of HKD 175,000.00 (€ 19,716.37), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 17%. Admittedly, works by Widayat have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Terang Bulan Di Rimba (Bright Moon In The Jungle) in October 2015 with an auction result of HKD 1,250,000.00 (€ 146,033.33).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Rooster I von Widayat wurde im April 2016 in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von HKD 175.000,00 (€ 19.716,37) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 17%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Widayat auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Terang Bulan Di Rimba (Bright Moon In The Jungle) im Oktober 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.250.000,00 (€ 146.033,33).
