Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
The work Burung Burung di Hutan by Widayat was worth HKD 1,071,000.00 (€ 119,133.92) to a buyer in October 2021. This price was achieved in the auction Modern Art Day Sale at Sothebys in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 320,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Widayat; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Terang Bulan Di Rimba (Bright Moon In The Jungle) sold at auction in October 2015 with the realized price of HKD 1,250,000.00 (€ 146,033.33).

Die Arbeit Burung Burung di Hutan von Widayat war einem Käufer im Oktober 2021 HKD 1.071.000,00 (€ 119.133,92) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Modern Art Day Sale bei Sothebys in Hong Kong erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 320.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Widayat; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Terang Bulan Di Rimba (Bright Moon In The Jungle) im Oktober 2015 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 1.250.000,00 (€ 146.033,33).
